NBA: The Knicks look to add to their four-game win streak and steal sixth place in the East from the Sixers when the two teams meet tonight in Philly. The 76ers won't go easy, though, they've won 14 of their last 17 home games against Eastern Conference opponents. ... The Hornets can clinch a spot in the postseason with a win over the Rockets tonight in New Orleans. Despite sustaining a knee injury Sunday, Chris Paul will be in the lineup as the Hornets look to deliver a potentially fatal blow to Houston. If the Rockets lose tonight, they would need to win their last three games AND need the eighth-place Grizzlies to lose their last four to make the playoffs.

NHL: With just five days left in the regular season, several teams are making one final push for a spot in the postseason.

The Hurricanes host the Red Wings tonight, looking to pull closer to the eighth-place Rangers, whom they trail by four points in the East. ... Tied for ninth in the West, the Flames look to grab two big points with a win over the Oilers. Calgary is just two points behind seventh-place Anaheim and eighth-place Chicago. ... Speaking of the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks, they host the Blues, who have already been eliminated from the playoff hunt. A win would help the Hawks hang on to that final spot in the West and would eliminate the Flames from the postseason race.

MLB: The White Sox will be without DH Adam Dunn today when they close out their series with the Royals. After last night's extra innings loss, Dunn underwent an emergency appendectomy. He's expected to miss about five days, including the Sox's home opener. ... Starter Jeremy Hellickson looks to lead his Rays to their first win of the year when they close out a two-game series with the Angels. ... Two more winless teams are in action, as the 0-4 Astros take on the 4-0 Reds in Cincinnati, and the 0-4 Red Sox face the 2-2 Indians in Cleveland.
