NBA: The Western Conference's top seed is one loss away from being eliminated from the playoffs, and the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies are to blame. The San Antonio Spurs were eaten alive, 104-86, and now trail 3-1 in the series. Scoring their first-ever playoff win in Game 1, the Grizzlies could hit the history books, as they try to become the second eight seed to overtake a No. 1 seed in a best-of-seven series.

The Denver Nuggets hung in there (barely) with a 104-101 triumph over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night. Can the Nuggets become the first NBA team to overcome a 3-0 playoff series deficit?

The Dallas Mavericks grabbed a 3-2 series lead over the Portland Trail Blazers with a 93-82 victory. Go figure. Portland missed 10 straight shots in the final quarter.

NHL: The San Jose Sharks advanced to the Western Conference semifinals with a 4-3 overtime win over Los Angeles. Monday marked the seventh straight day with an overtime playoff game, the first time that's happened since 2001.

On the verge of all-but-gone after falling into a 3-1 series hole, the Tampa Bay Lightning have now won two straight games, including a 4-2 victory Monday night. The Lightning tied their first-round series with the Pittsburgh Penguins at three games apiece to force a decisive Game 7 in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night.

NFL: Chalk one up for the working class: U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson mandated an immediate end to NFL lockout Monday, giving the players an early court victory over the owners. NFL owners retaliated with an appeal, questioning whether the judge exceeded her authority. Nelson was persuaded by the players' argument that the work stoppage was affecting their careers. That seems obvious, doesn't it? If her ruling holds, the NFL will have to return to business -- whatever that means now.
