Three-star athlete Fred Tiller (Homerville, Ga./Clinch County) committed to Kentucky on Tuesday."Fred went up on an unofficial visit to Kentucky this past weekend," Clinch County coach Jim Dickerson said. "He really liked it and felt comfortable with their staff. Fred just felt at home there. Plus, he wanted to commit and concentrate on this season. He did not want to be distracted with recruiting."So far, nothing has distracted Tiller. The safety is the team's leading tackler and also making plays on offense."That tells you something about Fred Tiller," Dickerson said. "He's our leading tackler from the safety spot. He's a really physical player and strong in the weight room. He can run and he has made some tremendous catches for us. We are in a rebuilding mode and he's the only guy that we have on the radar. He should do well at Kentucky and I think he's very capable of playing either safety position. He's a sure tackler and a hard hitter."Tiller, 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, is Kentucky's 21st commitment.Checking in with Edna Karr
Two of New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr's committed prospects are off to solid starts."Jarrell Bennett committed to Arizona a few weeks ago," coach Jabbar Juluke said. "He was supposed to go out there this weekend to see their game but he won't be able to make it. I think he will make his official visit in January. He has played really well for us this season despite our quarterback problems."Bennett, 5-10 and 165 pounds, has scored four touchdowns and Juluke said his blocking on the perimeter is very much improved. Edna Karr's primary prospect is 6-8, 333-pound offensive tackle Derek Edinburgh, who has committed to LSU."Derek's our anchor," Juluke said. "His improvement has been enormous. And it's scary because he still can improve in everything. Derek is going to be so much better."Bennett and Edinburgh are both three-star prospects.
