Wake Forest landed a sleeper wide receiver in
Jonathan Williams (Atlanta, Ga./Mays). Williams, 6-4 and 170 pounds, actually committed to the Demon Deacons last month but word didn't leak out until Sunday. "I actually committed in August but I guess it just got out," Williams said. "I committed because of the Wake Forest coaching staff. I had a real good connection with [wide receivers] coach [Lonnie] Galloway. I think he will be a very good coach for me at the next level. It was all about the relationship with those coaches."Williams has not visited Wake Forest just yet, but he plans on going to Winston-Salem as soon as his schedule allows for it. Still, he's excited about the opportunity he has in Jim Grobe's offense."I really believe I can be a playmaker for them," Williams said. "I can be there when they need it. I can go get it. I have speed, quickness and good hands. I think I can bring a lot to their offense."Williams said he has worked very hard to improve his game and become a more well-rounded receiver."I think there has been a big improvement on my blocking and my route running," Williams said. "I know that I can still really improve on my blocking. I want to work on that a lot more. I just don't want to catch passes. I want to be a complete receiver. And I want to make plays."Williams committed to Wake Forest over Rice. The Demon Deacons now have 10 commitments.
