Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park cornerback
Chris Humes, one of the top DBs in Alabama, is off to a good start to his senior campaign. "He's playing well for us," Spain Park coach Chip Lindsey said. "We lost to Hoover last week but he still had four or five pass break ups and a few big hits. We are all very excited about him."This is Lindsey's first season as the head coach at Spain Park but he knows the talent he has in Humes."The guys around here say that he has really improved his attitude and leadership," Lindsey said. "He's gotten stronger. The thing with Chris is that he has that NFL body. He's so cut up and just naturally strong. He has never really had to work at it."As a defensive back, he's our top corner for sure and our No. 1 guy. He's physical and brings a lot of confidence to our defense. I know he will play against the best wide receiver each week."According to Lindsey, Humes, 6-foot and 190 pounds, has scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Georgia.
