Afte decommitting from Auburn in August, three-star DT Darius Philon (Prichard, Ala./Vigor) has committed to Alabama."He committed this morning. I think that's basically where he wanted to go the whole time," Vigor coach Kerry Stevenson said. "He grew up fan of Alabama while his father loves Auburn. It's like he's fulfilling a dream because Alabama is the place where he wanted to go."Philon, 6-1 and 263 pounds, was one of the camp standouts in Tuscaloosa this summer."He went to their OL/DL camp and worked out," Stevenson said. "They didn't have anyone that can block him. He's a very explosive kid who's very strong. He can play the run and be a pass rusher. To me, he's a shorter version of Marcell Dareus only faster. This kid runs sprints with DBs and WRs."Philon is one of the leaders of a tough Vigor defense. "We have had one preseason game and one regular game and he's done great," Stevenson said. "Teams run away from him. In fact, our first team defense has been super, not allowing a yard overall and they have created a ton of turnovers."
