Three-star LB Javiere Mitchell (Leeds, Ala./Leeds) will make his college choice on Oct. 3, according to his coach Keith Etheridge. Mitchell, 6-1 and 197 pound, is a three-star linebacker prospect."Georgia just offered. So has Alabama, Auburn, Southern Miss, Mississippi State and Tennessee," Etheridge said. "He wants to commit then because he graduates in December."Mitchell had a busy summer, camping at Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. In fact, in Starkville he was clocked running a 4.42 40. In Tuscaloosa he broke a bone and tore a ligament in his foot and still ran 4.5 at a Tennessee camp shortly after."It hasn't slowed him down that much," Etheridge said. "Javiere has improved so much from last year. You know, he has only played ball two years. He's still raw but playing on another level. He understands things and picks things up very quickly. His athletic ability allows him to do a bunch of different things."In their jamboree Mitchell took one snap at quarterback and raced 70 yards for a score. This past week in a win he recorded a couple tackles for loss and a sack.Mitchell hopes to attend the Georgia/South Carolina game on Sept. 10th. "He wants to take visits and see these schools but he's kind of running out of time."
