Last season as a junior ESPNU 150 ATH Beniquez Brown (Florence, Ala./Florence) rushed for over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns on only 118 carries. Playing safety he recorded 134 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, four forced fumbles and two interceptions playing linebacker. This season, which kicks off this weekend for Florence High School against Vestavia Hills, he will once again start at running back and play safety."As far as college goes I don't know what position I will play," Brown said. "Playing opportunity will be a big thing for me and I don't really care what side of the ball."This past summer, Brown took the opportunity to unofficially visit Mississippi State, Alabama, Florida and Georgia. The Crimson Tide hold a slight lead over the Gators and Mississippi State Bulldogs."I have a great relationship with the coaches and Alabama has been recruiting me for so long," Brown said. "Alabama is not too far from home and I very comfortable there. Growing up in Alabama you are supposed to go to Alabama or Auburn. I will go to Alabama if I think it's the best school for me."I also really like Mississippi State and Florida. I feel real comfortable there and I know I can play early. They have offered Kivon Coman. We would love to play together. We both start at safety for our high school team. It would be cool to have someone there for me."I have a great relationship with the coaches at Florida. Me and (Will) Muschamp talk. I know I can play early there. The big issue is the distance."Brown, 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, said he will visit Alabama for a game this season and he also wants to officially visit Florida."I will take an official visit to Florida and I would like to see Tennessee, Georgia, and Arkansas," Brown said. "The main factors for me are academics and the relationships with the coaches and players. I know I will come in and work hard. Will I have a chance to play early? Also, I am hoping for a good support staff and want to get my degree so if I don't make it to the NFL I can get a job after football."
