• Jay Jay McCullough chooses Clemson

Coaches may debate what side of the field Fort Mill (S.C.) Nathan Ford's Jay Jay McCullough should play, but the versatile and intriguing athlete ended any discussion about his recruiting when he committed to Clemson on Thursday afternoon. "I did around 12:45. It felt like family there and their offense fits me the best," said McCullough, who picked the Tigers over South Carolina and Miami. "I will be playing everything -- running back, H-back, in the slot. It's kind of like what Percy Harvin did at Florida. That's gets me excited, to play in that kind of offense. It's what I do now, run and catch the ball for my high school team."While Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele might still lobby for McCullough, for now, the three-star athlete belongs to the offensive coaches."There were a lot of schools that wanted me as a defensive end," the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder said. "I like defense but I want to play on offense. I love the ball in my hands. I play safety in high school. Last season I didn't play a lot. I really only played when they needed me."Clemson, which now had 15 commits and the nation's No. 7 class, was just too good of an opportunity for McCullough to pass up. "I wanted to stay in state and be close. Plus, Clemson has recruited really well, this year and last year. I think I really fit with this class," he said. "They have some athletes and they have some speed. Clemson got a really good quarterback in Chad Kelly from Buffalo. Having a quarterback like that can help me and I can help him."
