Purdue headed to the deep south to land its latest tight end commitment in
Jonathan Curry (Phenix City, Ala./Phenix City). Curry 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, committed to the Boilermakers over Louisville and Vanderbilt."Everything with Purdue fell perfectly in place," Curry said. "Early playing time, the relationships with the coaches, their offense and how I will be used were all just too good to pass up. Purdue is just a perfect fit for me."I have known that for a while, but I wanted to make 100 percent sure with everyone -- myself, family and coaches. We all agreed. Plus you get the great education at Purdue. I want to study communications and they have a great communications degree."With three schools in mind, Curry believes he made the right decision."I visited all three schools -- Purdue, Louisville and Vandy," Curry said. "I had a good idea of these programs and schools and what each had to offer. I know I made an informed decision."Curry is the second tight end commit for the Boilermakers. He joins
Ryan Morris (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) and gives Purdue a versatile threat at this position."I feel like I can do whatever they ask from the tight end position," Curry said. "I can block on the line, stretch the field and run routes. I can line up anywhere for Purdue and do all those things."Last season as a junior Curry caught 14 passes for 200 yards and one touchdown.
