The Gamecocks have been on quite an offensive recruiting roll. Since the end of last week, South Carolina has added commitments from a trio of receivers in Kwinton Smith (Dillon, S.C./Dillon), Jody Fuller (Sun Valley, S.C./Monroe) and Shaq Roland (Lexington, S.C./Lexington). Roland, who's No. 46 in the ESPNU 150 and the No. 8 athlete, committed on Saturday."South Carolina is getting one of the best receivers in the country," said Lexington coach Scott Early. "He's the ultimate competitor with unlimited speed and leaping ability. Shaq is a complete player."Roland, 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, is such a talented athlete that he will have an opportunity to even play basketball for South Carolina."I know he has the option to play basketball," Early said. "But I think once he gets there football will take over." South Carolina now has 13 commitments.Gophers land South Florida TE
Tight end Samad Hinds (Miami, Fla./Central) committed to Minnesota over the weekend. "I have a good relationship with the coaches," Hinds said. "My mom and I sat down and talked and just figured it would be a good school for me. I did a lot of research about Minnesota. I know it's cold but that's okay. I am excited about the school, the program and my decision."Hinds, 6-5 and 208 pounds, selected Minnesota over FIU, Texas Tech, West Virginia and Miami. The Gophers now have 14 commitments.
