Syracuse picked up commitment No. 9 today from offensive line prospect
Jason Emerich (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain). Emerich, 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds, is an offensive guard prospect."I just had a really good feeling with the coaches," Emerich said. "I think they have a great staff and I love the direction Coach [Doug] Marrone has the program going in. They have all done a real good job in a very short time. I just feel real comfortable with the decision after visiting them today."Emerich had scholarship offers from UConn, UCF and Temple and visited all three of those schools as well."Those are all great programs and I really liked them all," Emerich said. "But to be perfectly honest, I just feel like Syracuse is the best fit for me."Emerich plays left tackle for his high school team. He's not sure where he will land on the Orange offensive front."I think I have the versatility to play just about everywhere on the line," Emerich said. "Wherever and whenever they need me I will be ready. I will be ready to compete for a spot right away or if they want me to redshirt that's OK as well. I will do what those coaches want me to do. I want to just keep working hard at everything. I know I can improve in all areas of my game."
