Syracuse continues to roll in the commitments. On Wednesday, the Orange landed in-state prospects quarterback
Terrell Hunt (Middle Village, N.Y./ Christ the King) and punter
Jonathan Fisher (Oakfield, N.Y./Oakfield-Alabama Central)."I committed to Syracuse and that's the school I really want to be at," Hunt said. "I mean I really like them a lot. They just make you feel so much at home. The atmosphere they have created is just unreal. The coaches are terrific and I love coach [Doug] Marrone. He has them headed in the right direction and there is just a tremendous amount of excitement with them right now."Hunt also likes the fact that Marrone is from New York City and was excited about getting the opportunity to see the Syracuse campus."I love their scheme and think I fit in real well. Marrone is putting in the New Orleans Saints offense," said Hunt. "Who wouldn't want to play quarterback at Syracuse now? [The Saints] just won the Super Bowl."This is an extraordinary moment for Hunt, who recently lost his mother, but he knows that she would be proud and happy about his decision."This is real special for me and it would have been for her as well. I know deep down she would want me to make my own decision but I also know she wanted me at Syracuse all along."The 6-3, 186 pounder also plays hoops for his high school team, one of the nation's top prep basketball programs, and hasn't ruled out trying to play both sports in college."I don't know. I mean I want to but I want to come in and concentrate on football first. Maybe down the line I could play both. I just want to go there and compete for a [starting] job [on the football field]," said Hunt. "I think I will fit into their offense real well because I can throw and run. I have a great feel in the pocket."I have big plans at Syracuse. I want to be better than Donovan McNabb. To play at the same school that he played at is going to be an amazing feeling. I hope I can meet him one day."Last season, Hunt threw for over 1,000 yards, rushed for over 1,000 yards and accounted for 17 touchdowns. He also won a state championship in basketball. The Orange also landed a punter in Fisher. "I grew up two hours from Syracuse and have always been a huge fan," Fisher said. "The coaches and players are awesome. It's just a place where I have always wanted to go to school."Last season, as a junior, Fisher averaged 46.7 yards per punt, on 19 punts.Syracuse now has five commitments, four of which they have picked up in the last week.
