Saints' massive new video boards are 900 percent bigger

The New Orleans Saints decided to go big -- really big -- with their latest upgrades to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Their new HD end zone video boards are 333 feet wide by 38 feet high, which they say is a 900 percent increase from the previous boards.

Saints and New Orleans Pelicans owner Tom Benson chipped in $25 million out of the $40 million cost to upgrade fan amenities at both the Superdome and the Pelicans’ home, the Smoothie King Center. Other upgrades have been made to the sound systems, video control room, entrance gates and suites, among other areas.

The Saints won’t be the only ones enjoying the new digs, since the Superdome regularly hosts big events -- including the 2020 college football championship game and, ideally, another Super Bowl at some point.
