          Early Commit: WR Micah Jones to Notre Dame

          Notre Dame continues to assemble one of the nation’s top classes in 2018. After reeling in ESPN Jr300 No. 48 Derrik Allen and No. 201 Kalon Gervin on Monday, the Fighting Irish struck again Friday, picking up a commitment from an eighth ESPN Jr300 prospect, receiver Micah Jones.

          Significance of impact: While adding talented on the defensive side of the ball is paramount in 2018 for Brian Kelly and staff, continuing to add playmakers and size on offense at the skill positions is also a need. In Jones, Notre Dame reeled in a 6-foot-5 receiver out of Illinois over the likes of Nebraska, Illinois, Miami, Michigan State and others. Notre Dame continues to cherry pick from Midwestern states with verbals out of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Michigan and Illinois, along with New Jersey, Georgia and Tennessee.
