In 2015, Washington and Utah ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in the Pac-12 in scoring defense, total defense, rushing defense and opponent first downs. This year, Washington leads the conference in scoring defense and the schools rank Nos. 2 and 3 in total defense.

And both are doing it with a focus on the defensive line.
