The first half of the college football season brought a slew of new and different uniforms along with some thrilling matchups. But Week 8 appears to be singularly focused on one SEC clash, with the other ranked-on-ranked games featuring teams ranked outside of the top 15.
Enter Tulane.
The Green Wave travel to Tulsa on Saturday (3:45 p.m. ET, ESPNU). And sure, they're 3-3 and winless in the American Conference, but does any of that really matter when your helmet features a cartoon wave?
The logo isn't new this week; Tulane featured it in four of its first six games. And it's not new for this season: Athletic director Troy Dannen, who was hired in December, brought it out of retirement in hopes of changing things up in New Orleans. But it deserves another look. The best part? A massive, two-story Angry Wave statue will soon sit atop the scoreboard at Yulman Stadium.

Louisville will wear special glow-in-the-dark cleats Saturday against NC State. They are some sweet kicks, but there's one problem: The game kicks off at noon ET, so showing off the glow-in-the-dark powers might be a problem.

Kansas will debut an alternate look when it hosts Oklahoma State, something it's calling "Limestone," which incorporates the famous "Rock Chalk, Jayhawk" chant. The cheer started in the school's geology club, and limestone (which is modeled in the white portions of the jersey and helmet) is prominent around Lawrence, Kansas.
The chant that sends chills.

Elsewhere, there appears to be a monochromatic theme with Colorado (at Stanford), Kentucky (vs. Mississippi State, 7:30 p.m. ET, SECN) and Cincinnati (vs. East Carolina).
