Wednesday's Warriors News: Briante Weber returns after D-League All-Star Game

Warriors’ Bob Myers was targeted by Lakers, per report: Warriors general manager Bob Myers was the Lakers’ original top target for that same position, according to a report from The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Los Angeles stopped trying to pursue Myers, per Wojnarowski, after he signed a contract extension with Golden State in September. -- San Francisco Chronicle

Warriors’ Briante Weber recalled from D-League: Guard Briante Weber has been recalled from Golden State’s NBA Development League affiliate in Santa Cruz, the Warriors announced Tuesday. Weber had been sent down to participate in Saturday’s D-League All-Star Game, in which he had four points, two assists and two steals in 15 minutes of the West’s 105-100 loss to the East. -- San Francisco Chronicle

Warriors need to fix one more thing before playoffs: With 26 games left in the regular season, the Warriors have little left to accomplish. If they can avoid a losing streak, which they’ve done for two seasons now, they’ll lock up the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. They have found their way on defense and solidified the rotation, especially when Zaza Pachulia and David West return. Still, one hurdle remains to be cleared: crunch-time offense. -- Bay Area News Group

Report: Lakers tried to lure away Warriors GM Bob Myers: The Lakers cleaned house on Tuesday, firing Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak. Magic Johnson was placed in charge of basketball operations. Now he’s in search of a new general manager. Warriors’ GM Bob Myers was apparently atop their list, according to a report by The Vertical. But Myers quickly nixed any interest. It’s tough to sell a guy who just compiled one of the most talented rosters in NBA history to leave it midseason (mid-dynasty?) for a rebuild job elsewhere, even if it is the Lakers. -- Bay Area News Group

Bob Myers to the Lakers? No, because the Warriors saw this coming in September and made sure he was happy here: Back in September, Warriors owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber had every reason of their own to extend GM Bob Myers’ contract past next season and to give him a raise and a promotion. Because, you know, the Warriors have been sort of good recently, and Lacob and Guber had just watched Myers (among several others) work the books and connections to add Kevin Durant as a free agent. -- Bay Area News Group
