Hawks end preseason with win over Bulls: The Hawks ended the preseason with a 97-81 exhibition victory over the Bulls in Omaha, Neb. on Thursday. On to the regular season. The exhibition was played at the home of Creighton University where the Hawks’ Kyle Korver and the Bulls’ Doug McDermott starred in different years. Korver scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers. He finished the preseason 11 of 22 from long range in five games. McDermott also had 16 points. -- The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Hawks waive veteran Jack, roster at 17: The Hawks waived veteran Jarrett Jack on Thursday. The release of the veteran point guard, who has been unable to practice as he returns from torn right knee ligaments, reduced the training-camp roster to 17 players. Jack suffered the injury last season as a member of the Nets and has been rehabbing during training camp. He missed all seven of the Hawks’ exhibition games this preseason. -- The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Hawks release Bynum, roster at 16 players: The Hawks releasing point guard Will Bynum on Friday, a move that reduces their roster to 16 players. The Hawks will need to make one more roster move to get to the maximum of 15 players.
