The Toronto Raptors held their annual Media Day on Monday as they began preparations for their 2016-17 season. With training camp starting on Tuesday, here was the big news from Monday:

  • Carroll to play limited minutes: Dwane Casey told reporters today that DeMarre Carroll’s knee is still not 100 percent after only playing in 26 games last season. Carroll -- who signed a four-year, $60 million deal last season -- said there is no longer swelling in the knee and he will be on a minutes limit as he tries to play through the discomfort.

  • DeRozan happy to be in Toronto, tired of photoshop: DeMar DeRozan spoke to reporters about a busy summer, including winning a gold medal in the Rio Olympics with teammate Kyle Lowry. He also talked about how his new deal with the Raptors will hopefully deter fans from his hometown of Los Angeles from getting a little creative with Photoshop. "I was very tired of that," he said. "I remember some kids came to my house earlier in the summer with Photoshop pictures with me [in a Lakers uniform]."

  • Sullinger likely to start at power forward: Jared Sullinger has the inside track to start this season, according to coach Dwane Casey. Casey went on to say that he "reserves the right to see how it goes." Sullinger signed a one-year deal with the Raptors after playing the first four seasons of his career with the Boston Celtics. Luis Scola started 76 games last season but left to sign with the Brooklyn Nets. Patrick Patterson, the team's other power forward, has no preference if he starts or comes off the bench as long he has a big role.
