Tuesday's Pistons Links: Team bonding during West Coast trip

Pistons build chemistry with offseason bonding, trip: The start of training camp still is a couple of weeks away, but the Detroit Pistons are trying to get a jump-start. Like last summer, they’ve had some team-building and team-bonding activities that included a trip to the West Coast. Andre Drummond, who signed a five-year deal worth $125 million, has been one of those getting players together for the activities. “It’s a matter of everybody on our team working and getting better,” coach Stan Van Gundy said. -- The Detroit News

Pistons alums expect big things from Drummond and Co.: Two Pistons alums are expecting big things from the team this season, especially after getting a taste – albeit a short one – of the playoffs last season. "I expect a lot of great things from this team," Ben Wallace said. "We know we've got a young team that's growing and learning on the fly. They're gonna have an opportunity to grow up and become young men together on the court. That's what we did as Pistons when we won a championship (in 2004), and I think the same for them. The sky's going to be the limit." Wallace spoke Friday night at Orchestra Hall, ahead of his induction into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. -- The Detroit News

Debating whether Ben Wallace belongs in the Hall of Fame: Ben Wallace had his jersey retired last year by the Detroit Pistons, a reminder of his defensive prowess and leadership that helped bring an NBA title to the Motor City in 2004. Was his career good enough to land him in the prestigious Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame? -- MLive.com
