Wednesday's Raptors Links: Raptors' success making waves in Africa

Raptors’ success making waves in Africa: Last summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Nigeria and Ghana with Giants of Africa, a non-profit organization founded by Toronto Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri. GOA runs skills camps for elite young basketball players—typically the 50 best youth players a country can muster—giving them access to the knowledge and advice of NBA coaches and scouts (and of Ujiri himself), and encouraging them to use basketball as a means to improve their lives and the lives of their families and communities. -- Sportsnet.ca

New Raptors 2016-17 alternate jerseys help bridge past and present: The Toronto Raptors unveiled two new jerseys for the upcoming 2016-17 season on Tuesday, one a nod to the NBA’s Canadian heritage and the other a celebration of the Chinese New Year. The first is a blue ‘Huskies’ uniform to help mark the 70th anniversary of the Toronto Huskies-New York Knicks game at Maple Leaf Gardens on Nov. 1, 1946, the first-ever NBA game. -- Sportsnet.ca
