Friday's Pistons Links: Jon Leuer brings defensive flexibility to the roster

GM Jeff Bower: Jon Leuer adds defensive flexibility, fits Pistons' mold: The Detroit Pistons entered the wild and wacky free-agent market last month seeking size. They landed 6-foot-11 forward Jon Leuer, signing him to a four-year, $41 million contract. -- MLive.com

Next step for the Pistons? 'We need to win a (playoff) series,' GM says: The goal for the Detroit Pistons last season was just to get in. The playoffs had become an over-arching goal of the franchise, postseason-starved since 2009, and it finally came after a 44-38 regular season earned them the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. But after a four-game sweep at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the eventual NBA champions, Detroit is searching for something greater in the 2016-17 season. -- MLive.com

Detroit black business group blasts NBA, Pistons: A group of local African-American business professionals is threatening to boycott the Detroit Pistons and NBA unless its concerns about what members call “the economic exclusion of people of color beyond the court” are addressed. The Detroit Association of Black Organizations Inc. is calling for a “Bust the Ball” campaign aimed at urging fans not to spend money on tickets and merchandise as well as to put pressure on the league and team officials. -- The Detroit News

Pistons have no immediate plans to leave 105.1: Despite a format flip and the looming sale of the radio station, the Detroit Pistons still are planning to stick with WMGC (105.1) for the final year of its contract. Greater Media and Detroit Sports 105.1 landed the Pistons in April 2014, and has aired its games and other programming for the past two seasons. -- The Detroit News
