Magic's Ibaka big on defense: Serge Ibaka spent part of his Thursday morning as an enthusiastic instructor at an Orlando Magic Youth basketball camp at the RDV Sportsplex. “The thing I like most about this guy is that he plays defense!” said one of the camp instructors as about 100 kids gathered around the Magic’s new big man. Funny, I looked around the group of campers and Nikola Vucevic was nowhere in sight. I kid because I care, as should you, about the Orlando Magic and this thing called “playing defense” in the NBA. Orlando ranked 18th in defense in the NBA last season, allowing an average of 103.7 points per game. Those numbers needed to be addressed in the off-season. -- Orlando Sentinel Magic's Jeff Turner had a golden Olympic moment: When Jeff Turner and his wife, Dee, decided to have kids, they agreed to limit the basketball memorabilia he'd put on display. "There are no shrines in the Turner house," laughed Turner, the former Magic forward and current television color analyst for the club.
