Vikings create ticket wait lists with U.S. Bank Stadium sold out for 2016

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings' first season at U.S. Bank Stadium is sold out.

The team announced Thursday morning that it had season-long commitments for 60,400 seats in the inaugural season at the $1.1 billion stadium, with single-game tickets also sold out for the entire season. The new venue in downtown Minneapolis, which will host its first Vikings game on Sunday, will have a capacity of 66,655 for the 2016 season.

The Vikings also announced the creation of two wait lists, one for tickets and one for suites. Fans can sign up for either wait list here; the wait list for seats requires a $100 deposit per person, while the suite wait list requires a $500 deposit per person. Those deposits are refundable at any time prior to being offered seats, and they go toward the purchase of tickets once seats are available, Vikings executive director of communications Jeff Anderson said.

"This is a testament to the passion of our fans and tremendous support of the Vikings,” Vikings president Mark Wilf said in a statement. “The excitement for this team combined with the overwhelming response to U.S. Bank Stadium is incredible. We cannot wait to create the best home field advantage in the NFL.”
