As the mid-major conference tournaments come to an end, we can start to focus the major conferences. According to ESPN.com's Joe Lunardi's latest bracket, Oregon is projected to be one of the last four teams left out of the tournament.

The Ducks are a newcomer to the SB Top 25 and are the only team on our chart from a major conference that is projected to be on the tournament bubble. At the end of the season, it becomes increasingly challenging for teams to move up in the SB standings because it's significantly more difficult to change your average margin of cover.

But Oregon has been a tremendous team to wager on of late. The Ducks have covered their last four games and six of seven.

Professional handicapper Sal Selvaggio generates the sweat barometer numbers and thinks Oregon is a team bettors should feel confident about.

"At the start of this year, Oregon was a bit overvalued because it won the CBI last year, but now it has bounced back and is undervalued in the marketplace," Selvaggio said. "Oregon will be a tough out if they do get in the tournament because of an efficient offense and coach Dana Altman. He's one of the best."

Also, congratulations to South Dakota State for earning its first ever NCAA Tournament berth in Division I after defeating Western Illinois 52-50 in overtime Tuesday night to win the Summit League. South Dakota State erased a 12-point second-half deficit. The Jackrabbits have been the No. 1 team in our sweat barometer for the past two months.

It's a team bettors have been aware of for a considerable period, and it's safe to assume that it will be a huge underdog in every game it plays from here on out, unless it is forced to play in one of the play-in games before the round of 64. Now the rest of the nation will have to pay some attention to South Dakota State. We can all hope that South Dakota's sweat barometer prowess can be mentioned on Sunday's selection show. (Last year's No. 1 sweat barometer team, Idaho, didn't make it to the NCAA tournament.)

North Texas Mean Green, the No. 2 SB team, wasn't as fortunate last night, falling to Western Kentucky in the Sun Belt championship game. North Texas might not be dancing, but its backers thank them for a highly profitable season.
