So many intriguing lines this week. The Detroit Lions-New Orleans Saints number is, literally, historic. Posting at a wild-card high of 58, and then getting bet up to 58.5. Then 59. Then 59.5. I covered this line at length in my podcast with Warren Sharp, so we won't go into it here. But the sides in the Lions-Saints matchup are interesting, too. New Orleans opened at 9.5, and, like the total, immediately got some action, going up to 10, 10.5 and then finally 11.
A month ago, when these teams met, the Saints closed as nine-point favorites. While they won by 14, it was a seven-point game in the fourth quarter. A game, by the way, which the Lions played with Ndamukong Suh, without Nick Fairley for most of it and without their best defensive back. It's also, by the way, the last time the Saints played at home and scored less than 45 points.
