The NFL draft is less than three months away, which means mocks are ramping up.

ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. provided his second mock draft of the offseason Wednesday with another interesting selection for the Miami Dolphins at No. 22 overall.

Kiper's pick: TE David Njoku

School: Miami

2016 stats: 43 receptions, 698 yards, eight touchdowns

Analysis: It is rare that Kiper and McShay agree on the same prospect this early in the process for the Dolphins. However, both ESPN draft experts are predicting the team will stay local in their latest mock draft and select Njoku. He has the size, athleticism and playmaking ability the Dolphins need in the middle of the field to help quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Tight end also is a major position of need; both former starters Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims suffered through injuries and inconsistencies in 2016 and are unrestricted free agents this offseason. Kiper and McShay also have Alabama tight end O.J. Howard off the board at No. 22. Compared to Njoku, Howard is more NFL ready in several areas such as route running, blocking and consistently playing a higher level of competition. The Dolphins may have to decide in this spot whether to select the second-rated tight end on the board or addressing another major need such as linebacker.
