• Key questions for Mexico versus Jamaica

Friday's 2-2 tie against Nigeria was the most positive performance of 2013 from El Tri, and bodes well heading into the run of three qualifiers over the next eight days. However, there is a caveat.

Despite the good performance -- with 10 men for the majority of the game -- El Tri remains without a victory this calendar year heading into three vital matches that will go a long way to deciding its World Cup qualifying fate.

Mexico coach Jose Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre was enthusiastic in his praise of his team's attitude and ability to adapt to facing a decent Nigeria team while down a man. But question marks remain heading into Tuesday's match in Kingston against Jamaica, when the real business of qualifying for Brazil 2014 gets back underway.

Here's a look at five key questions heading into the Jamaica match.

How will Mexico handle the qualifying pressure?

After six consecutive draws, pressure is on Chepo and his squad from both the media and fans. Forget the glamour of the Confederations Cup later this month, Mexico is in a genuine fight just to get to the World Cup. It's easy to take a laissez-faire approach, but the reality is that El Tri is currently out of World Cup qualification and another slip-up in the tricky Independence Park, or the lack of an early goal Tuesday, could impact a Mexico side that has not been so sure of itself in the qualifiers so far.
