Mexico's final warm-up match before a jam-packed June will take place Friday in Houston against Nigeria, the reigning African champs and a potential rival at the Confederations Cup. With nothing on the line except pride, the match will provide a perfect setting for Chepo de la Torre and his coaching staff to evaluate players one last time before moving into World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup.

Against Nigeria, many players need to put in a great performance to secure a future with the national team this summer and beyond, not to mention the implications toward a future with their current club or a new one.

Here's a look at five key El Tri players to watch when Mexico takes on Nigeria:

1. Francisco Javier "Maza" Rodriguez, America (Mexico)

Rodriguez's dreadful performance in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on March 22 is still the benchmark by which Maza's national team future is being measured. After committing a penalty and receiving a yellow card that took him out of the showdown with the United States four days later, the team's captain was suddenly considered dead weight in the wake of Diego Reyes' fabulous performance at the Estadio Azteca.
