Jose Manuel de la Torre has overseen the gradual dismantling of much of the squad that featured in the last World Cup since taking charge of El Tri. The process of assimilating younger talents into the full national team, many of whom have won silverware at international youth level, is in full swing.
But where should the line be drawn? The temptation for De la Torre must be to pick the successful crop of hopefuls ahead of the established, experienced players who have failed to take Mexico past the Round of 16 in a World Cup.
