During the gold-medal ceremony after El Tri's dramatic 2-1 victory against Brazil, the public-address announcer at Wembley Stadium mangled the pronunciation of several Mexican players' names.

Brazil had a squad of internationally renowned players, stars who have cost millions and millions of dollars on the transfer market, but who exactly was this group of El Tri players who had shocked the football world and had made history in securing Mexico's first Olympic gold medal in soccer? Who exactly were Oribe Peralta and Javier Aquino and Marco Fabian, and how does one pronounce their names?

Mexico's Olympic champions will truly be remembered as a team. Although there were several terrific individual moments, the squad's cohesiveness suggested that a sum of parts was more important than one or two singular players.
