Nova zone no match for UNC early

DETROIT -- Villanova has opened the game with some sort of matchup zone, and North Carolina isn't having many problems cracking it.
The Tar Heels have made four of their first seven shots and have a 10-8 lead at the first TV timeout with 15:20 to play. Philly native Wayne Ellington is off to a good start, scoring five points on 2-for-3 shooting. Point guard Ty Lawson also nailed his first 3-pointer.
Look for Nova coach Jay Wright to change defenses out of the timeout.
The Wildcats have missed a lot of open looks, going 4-for-12 from the floor so far. But Dante Cunningham is holding his own against Tyler Hansbrough and Deon Thompson, scoring two points with three rebounds.
