• Second thoughts on the crowd

DETROIT -- It will be interesting to see how empty Ford Field gets after Michigan State fans leave to celebrate the Spartans' 82-73 victory over Connecticut in the first national semifinal game of the 2009 Final Four. There are only a couple of thousand Villanova fans here sitting behind the Wildcats' bench. UNC fans typically travel very well, and several hundred Tar Heels fans are seated across the court from the UNC bench. Carolina blue T-shirts are also scattered across the "arena." But I'm guessing neither team will have a home-court advantage like Michigan State had in the first game.
