DETROIT -- You would think Michigan State, a Big Ten team, would prefer a slower, methodical pace. You would have thought wrong. The Spartans seem to be enjoying a faster pace in the second half, as they've used three breakaway layups to go ahead of Connecticut 53-49 with 13:07 to go. In fact, MSU has outscored the Huskies 16-8 in fast-break points.
