• Cardinals' bench producing

INDIANAPOLIS -- Louisville's bench has stepped up once again.

Backup guards Edgar Sosa and Preston Knowles have checked in and knocked down 3-point shots, helping the Cardinals to an 18-15 lead at the under-eight media timeout.

The Cardinals also are getting the usual all-court game from Terrence Williams. He had five rebounds in the first seven minutes and has dished three assists.

Michigan State has had success exploiting Louisville's 2-3 zone by passing the ball to the free-throw line, most often to Goran Suton (nine points so far). The Cardinals morph into a man-to-man look when the ball goes into the middle against their zone, and they have been slow to cover the high post.
