• MSU keeping Louisville offense in check

INDIANAPOLIS -- One thing is clear early: Louisville will not be scoring 103 points today.

Not on this defense.

Arizona gave up uncontested shots left and right to the Cardinals on Friday night. The Spartans are locked down on the Louisville shooters so far in taking an early 4-2 lead. Louisville missed its first four shots before getting a backdoor layup by Jerry Smith off a heat-seeking pass by Terrence Williams.

Earl Clark is off to a slow offensive start, missing his first three shots and twice settling for perimeter jumpers. He's much better near the basket or driving toward it.
