• Former Izzo assistant Crean's key to game

DETROIT -- A sleek black limo crawled alongside Ford Field about 7 p.m. ET. Out popped Indiana coach Tom Crean, a former Tom Izzo assistant at Michigan State, and his wife, Joani. Crean stopped long enough to pass along his key to the game: the Spartans must make it a half-court tussle, and must reduce their turnovers after giving away the ball repeatedly when they lost to North Carolina in December. Crean said Michigan State guard Kalin Lucas is a much better player now than he was then -- less reliant on the dribble to get things done. "It should be a helluva game," Crean said.
