DETROIT -- In case you wondered, the NCAA now has an official scissor for cutting down the nets on Monday night. Fiskars, a Finland-based company and the self-proclaimed "world's No. 1 scissors brand," reached an agreement with the NCAA to become the "official scissors to cut down the nets at the 2009 NCAA men's and women's basketball championships." The company's 9.5 Titanium scissors will be used. According to a news release, they feature the company's ergonomic orange handles and serrated, gold titanium blades, which will be specifically etched with the NCAA logo. As if those scissors in my kitchen drawer at home wouldn't have worked. The NCAA also has an official ladder to climb to cut down the nets. So much for a recession in some circles.
