With three unbeaten teams remaining -- Syracuse, Baylor and Murray State -- at the approximate halfway point of the season, we're left ourselves asking two questions: Can any of them complete an undefeated regular season? And what would it mean for Murray State in terms of NCAA tournament seeding if the Racers really are sitting at 28-0 on Selection Sunday?

There's no question what would happen if Syracuse and/or Baylor hit the finish line with a perfect record. They would be runaway No. 1 seeds and huge favorites to reach New Orleans in the same condition. The two are already a combined 13-0 against teams in the NCAA field (or under consideration), and that number would skyrocket over the balance of league play and the respective Big East/Big 12 conference tournaments.

Murray State, on the other hand, plays only one more game against a current InsideRPI Top 150 opponent (Eastern Illinois, No. 150). The Racers have already beaten Eastern Illinois once 73-40 on the Panthers' home floor, and they figure to be double-digit favorites in every game between now and the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. Further, according to kenpom.com, Murray has a 38.7 percent chance of running the table.

So the notion of Murray State getting to 31-0 -- its three non-Division I wins do not count for NCAA selection and seeding purposes -- is a real one. How would the men's basketball committee respond?
