Watch List tight end Kelvin Rainey (Yulee, Fla./Yulee) has seen three schools step up their efforts in his recruitment recently."You could say the three schools that are coming in strongest are South Carolina, Georgia and Miami," Rainey said. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound tight end has been pursued by many schools with Florida State, South Florida, Florida, Louisville, LSU and Texas Tech among his other offers. But his most recent vacations seem to indicate that he's starting to narrow his list."I took a trip to South Carolina on Wednesday and a trip to Georgia over the weekend," Rainey said.In both cases, Rainey went to take a look at what the program and the schools had to offer and he came away impressed."[South Carolina] was great, the facilities were kind of old but they have a lot of new stuff coming in like a new study hall that looks very good. I liked the environment and what we talked about was all good," Rainey said."Georgia was gorgeous. They have this building; I don't know exactly what they call it, where they have a little turf room to practice at. The weight room and training room were brand new. To be honest when I headed down there I didn't think I was going to be as impressed as I was. Once I got down there it was great."Next up for Rainey will be a trip to Miami this week."I have midterms so I'll be in school until Wednesday and on Thursday I'm going to leave and check out Miami," Rainey said. "Miami is coming in strong right now. One of my coaches talks with someone on their staff all the time. I think they are really interested."After Rainey is finished at Miami he says he'll finish up track season and participate in a couple more camps. He is also taking part in the team's conditioning and weight programs."I'm really just trying to be in the best shape possible for my senior year," said Rainey. He said he's planning on visiting South Florida as well, possibly for a spring game and will most likely take trips to South Carolina, Georgia and Miami once more in April.
