The Seattle Mariners finished last in the American League in on-base percentage in 2009 at .314, and -- not coincidentally -- last in the league in runs scored. Their No. 2 hitters mustered a .294 OBP, a number that the soon-to-be-signed Chone Figgins can beat even if he sleeps through the entire 2010 season, and a bad OBP year from him would still mean the Mariners' No. 2 hitter reaches base 40-50 more times next year.
