• The James Paxton situation

The NCAA's war on its own players is, apparently, not over yet.

Just 10 months after losing a lawsuit stemming from its suspension of former Oklahoma State pitcher Andy Oliver, the NCAA is now hounding University of Kentucky lefty James Paxton, who was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the supplemental round of the 2009 Rule 4 draft but did not sign. The NCAA is insisting that Paxton submit to an interview with Chance Miller, the NCAA's Assistant Director of Agent, Gambling, and Amateurism Activities, an interview that still has not taken place. Instead, Paxton's attorneys have filed a preemptive lawsuit against the University to prevent a repeat of the NCAA's actions against Oliver.
