• Giants don't get enough offense in Sanchez

I'm assuming the Giants will use Freddy Sanchez at second to replace Juan Uribe, who has had a surprisingly good season, meaning that Sanchez is just a small upgrade for them the remainder of this year. If, however, they choose to bench injured shortstop Edgar Renteria, who has been a replacement-level disaster, and play Uribe and Sanchez in the middle infield, it would be a much more significant upgrade. The move would be worth at least a win, and likely more the rest of this year, and a couple of wins through 2010 if they keep that middle-infield combination together. To read Keith's scouting report on Sanchez and Tim Alderson, the former first-round pick who went from the Giants to the Bucs, you must be an ESPN Insider.
