Last week, USC coach Lane Kiffin offered a scholarship to one of the top juniors in Ohio, defensive back
De'Van Bogard (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville).The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Bogard played linebacker during his junior season and made 55 tackles, forced four fumbles, recovered two and had four sacks. However, Bogard is being recruited as a strong safety or cornerback."USC, Ohio State, Michigan State and Penn State, that's the ones that are recruiting me that I know of right now," Bogard said. "But I get a lot of mail from other schools too."Bogard plans to attend the Nike Combine in Massillon on Saturday as well as a junior day at Ohio State the weekend of Feb. 26."I like any school that is recruiting me," Bogard said. "But I always wanted to be a Buckeye."
Lee attending Big Ten junior daysWhile
Sam Lee (Blue Earth, Minn./Area) does not yet have a scholarship offer, he is drawing interest from Big Ten coaches."I was just at Minnesota on Sunday for their junior day," Pirsig said. "I went to the Minnesota-Ohio State basketball game. It was pretty fun. I saw the football facilities and the academic center. I had already been to the football stadium. They have nice facilities."The 6-5, 300-pounder was a starter at offensive tackle his sophomore year and moved to offensive guard his junior season, and also played some defensive tackle. In addition to the Gophers' junior day, Lee has also been to a junior day at Iowa and plans to attend Wisconsin's junior day Feb. 26."Those are the three invites I have right now," Lee said. "I don't have any favorites."However, if the opportunity were to arise, Lee said he and his teammate,
Jonah Pirsig (one of the top prospects in the Midwest) would have an interest in attending the same college."We talk about that some," Lee said. "But basically we need to go where we each feel the most comfortable."
