It took a little time, but defensive lineman Antwan Crutcher (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville) needed just one official visit to select a college.Crutcher visited Ohio University over a month ago, and then committed to the Bobcats over the weekend."I just have a good relationship with the coaches," Crutcher said. "They have a stable program and I like what Ohio has to offer academically."The 6-foot-1, 280-pound run stopping defensive tackle helped the Tarblooders win 11 straight games before losing in the second round of the state playoffs. In addition to Ohio University, Crutcher said he also had scholarship offers from Illinois, Ball State, Akron, Bowling Green and Miami of Ohio.Beyer will likely stay with MichiganDefensive end Brennen Beyer (Canton, Mich./Plymouth) is one of the top commitments in Michigan's 2011 recruiting class. In all likelihood Beyer will stay with his commitment to the Wolverines, despite the firing of Rich Rodriguez last week."We are waiting to see what decisions are made," Brennen's father, John Beyer, said. "He is waiting to see who the new coach is. You want to know the coach wants you and see how you fit in. It's one of those things where you want everything to work out."John Beyer said there have been inquiries from other schools since Rodriguez was fired, but declined to name the schools. It does not look like Beyer will visit any of them."Some calls have come in asking if we are interested," John Beyer said. "But there is nothing planned right now."The 6-4, 220-pounder is one of the top prospects in the state of Michigan. He made 65 tackles, including 12 sacks in leading Plymouth to the state championship game and an overall record of 11-3.Brown drawing plenty of interestJunior running back Coy Brown III (Wakarusa, Ind./NorthWood) worked out last week at the Under Armour combine in Orlando, Fla."I thought it was a great experience," Brown said. "It was great getting to know people and being taught by the best."The 6-1, 215-pounder is one of the top juniors in the state of Indiana. He has been a starter at both running back and outside linebacker since the fourth game of his sophomore season.Brown rushed for close to 700 yards his sophomore year and 1,204 yards his junior season.Brown said he is receiving mail from every school in the Big Ten, except Ohio State and Minnesota as well as Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas and UCLA."During the summer I visited Alabama and Indiana," Brown said. "I went to Kentucky for a camp. I've been to Michigan twice. I've been to Michigan State. I think that's it."Brown does not have any leaders at this early point in the recruiting process."I'm keeping all doors open right now," he said.Brown is waiting for his first scholarship offer.
