The firing of coach Rich Rodriguez has caused Michigan commit OL
Jacob Fisher (Traverse City, Mich./West) to consider, and likely take official visits to other schools."I'm still committed to Michigan," Fisher said. "But I'm waiting to see what happens. I've talked to Michigan State, Penn State, Oregon and Notre Dame. I want to check them out. I want to see if Michigan gets a coach I have a good relationship with."The Spartans have offered a scholarship to the 6-foot-7, 268-pounder, but the other three have not to this point. Fisher said he won't make an official visit anywhere this weekend, but will probably schedule one to Michigan State for one of the last three weekends in January. He said he might make official visits to Penn State, Oregon and/or Notre Dame if those three also offer a scholarship.
Miller likely to stick with MichiganOffensive lineman
Jack Miller (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's) committed to Michigan in late June. He says he remains committed to the Wolverines despite the firing of Rodriguez."A few schools have contacted me since coach Rodriguez was fired," Miller said. "But I probably won't visit anyone else."Boston College was high on Miller's list when he committed to the Wolverines. If Miller were to visit anyone else, the Eagles would be the likely choice."They are still in the picture," Miller said. "Originally I thought I'd go to Boston College, but I didn't want to go too far for college."
Bryant announcement may be on holdBefore Rodriguez was fired it looked like the Wolverines were going to receive a commitment from offensive lineman
Chris Bryant (Chicago, Ill./Simeon), who has made official visits to Michigan and Arizona, and was planning to announce his college choice on Jan. 21."I might push that Jan. 21 date back now," Bryant said. "Michigan is going to be Michigan no matter who the coach is. Whoever they bring in is going to be brought in to win. Michigan is still going to be a choice for me. But I can't say if it is going to be a top choice."Bryant may make an official visit to at least one other Big Ten school before he selects a college."I'm thinking about trying to get down to Illinois," Bryant said. "And I talked to Indiana. They came in (on Thursday) and Colorado came on Wednesday. They are both trying to get me to take an official visit."
Taylor's Michigan visit postponedDefensive back
Raymon Taylor (Highland Park, Mich./Highland Park) was scheduled to make an official visit to Michigan this weekend, however, the visit has been put on hold because of the firing of Rodriguez."It's off for this weekend, but I'll still visit there sometime," Taylor said. "Michigan is still a great program. I'll reschedule the visit when they get a new coaching staff."Taylor has made official visits to Toledo and Iowa. He has trips set to Indiana the weekend of Jan. 14 and Illinois the weekend of Jan. 21. Taylor has scholarship offers from all five schools."I don't have any favorites," Taylor said. "I'm just trying to pick the right college."The 5-10, 175-pounder intercepted five passes during his senior season. He also rushed for 879 yards with 13 touchdowns. Taylor is being recruited as a cornerback.
