Mike Pelfrey for Cy Young!
If you follow this blog at all, you know I like to begin my posts with a bang, and that I stick pro-Mets references into my analysis whenever I can. But I actually have good reason to think that Pelfrey -- a 6-foot-7 righty who went 10-12 with an ERA over 5.00 for New York last year -- can keep up the good work he has posted so far this season (four W's and a 0.69 ERA). It's all in metrics like DIPS (defense-independent pitching statistics) and BABIP (batting average on balls in play).
