• Boudreau among hot seat candidates

There are just four games on tonight's schedule. That is a strangely quiet Thursday by NHL standards.

I'll be watching to see if the New York Rangers can solidify their hold on a playoff spot in the East with a win over the visiting Atlanta Thrashers. Out West, the Dallas Stars need a home victory over the Colorado Avalanche to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

With just a few ticks left on the regular-season clock, let's see what you have on your minds via the mailbag:

Which coaches do you think will get fired? --Freddy, Winnipeg

The guys that come to mind immediately are the Ottawa Senators' Cory Clouston, Florida Panthers' Peter DeBoer and Minnesota Wild's Todd Richards. Colorado's Joe Sacco also could be in danger after his team's dramatic second-half freefall.

Further, I don't know if the Boston Bruins' Claude Julien or Washington Capitals' Bruce Boudreau could survive a first-round playoff failure. That tells you just how tough a business these guys are in.
