It's always tough to make picks on the day after the trade deadline. You never know how certain teams will respond to all of the moves. Still, I'll give it whirl. Here are the Hradek selections for another Tuesday night on ice.
Buffalo Sabres at New York Rangers
Under new owner Terry Pegula, the Sabres are 2-0-1. Those games were played on home ice. Tonight, they go into MSG to face their in-state rivals. The Rangers have won the previous two meetings, both in Buffalo. I like the Sabres to win tonight.
Florida Panthers at Carolina Hurricanes
Eric Staal is scheduled to return to action tonight. That's good news. This is a must-win for the Canes against a Panthers team that raised the white flag on the season with several moves over the past few days. Carolina wins.
